From the moment we met, we were star-crossed
lovers—always wanting, never having. We loved each other for most of our lives,
but right from the beginning destiny had other plans. She knew we would fall in love. She knew we would fall apart. Over and over again, like the curse of a
recurring nightmare. Or the hope of a
familiar dream.

~Review~
Ok,
so um I have a confession to make. It’s been quite a while since I’ve read a M.
Leighton book. Yeah, yeah, yeah I can feel you judging me but judge no more
folks because I have rectified that situation by reading “The Beautiful Now”
and I must say I did an awesome job with rectifying it because this book was every
damn thing. From the story line to the epicness that was the characters, I will
leave you wanting more.
Dane
and Brinkley story is one that will cause you anger and pain because of what
they had to endure in their youth from the people that they had to deal with. They
had to deal with much disapproval from everyone around them but in the end they
just couldn’t be away from each, the magnetic pull was so strong. I was so
filled with anger for them because of the close minded people that they had to
deal with in their small hometown. What I enjoyed to most about this book is
the relationship Brinkley shared with her daughter; she gave Celina something
that she never got when she was a little girl. Then we have the fact that
Brinkley was able to rekindle a mother/daughter with the woman she thought she
would never be able to forgive for the past.
“You are my home. Wherever
you are, that’s where my heart is. It always has been. Even after all these
years”
I
mean come on, le swoon, how can you not fall in love with the Brinkley and Dane
second chance at romance part of this story. The fact that they were able to “pick”
right back up after not seeing each other for fifteen years goes to show you
that in end love will prevail. Here’s to love!!!!
