~Synopsis~
Caught between desire and loyalty…
Derek
DiMarzio would do anything for the members of his disgraced Special Forces
team—sacrifice his body, help a former teammate with a covert operation to
restore their honor, and even go behind enemy lines. He just never expected to
want the beautiful woman he found there.
When
a sexy stranger asks questions about her brother, Emilie Garza is torn between
loyalty to the brother she once idolized and fear of the war-changed man he's
become. Derek’s easy smile and quiet strength tempt Emilie to open up, igniting
the desire between them and leading Derek to crave a woman he shouldn’t trust.
As the team’s investigation reveals how powerful their
enemies are, Derek and Emilie must prove where their loyalties lie before
hearts are broken and lives are lost. Because love is too hard to come by to
let slip away…

~Review~
OK, I am going to have to say that
Derek DiMarzio is by far my favorite so far. Laura came right out of left field
with this one folks; I was not expecting him to be the absolute dirty talker
that he was. I was shocked and turned on at the same time, I always the dirtier
the better. As always, one of my favorite parts of this series is Jeremy’s t-shirts,
it always makes me laugh out loud.
This time we get to read about Derek
and Emilie’s story. It was a union that is one that is wasn’t supposed to
happen because Emilie Garza was the sister of one the person’s involved in the guy’s
ultimate demise. But as I always say, the heart want s what the heart wants and
when Derek felt that flutter he had no chose but to not ignore it even though
it meant that she would end up not trusting him in the end. Laura gave us the suspenseful
that we love so much from the other books. This time around is in full force, I
swear at one point my heart would explode in my chest. I thought I was
witnessing an action out play in my mind. Then I got the hot, steamy sex scenes
that I really wasn’t expecting at all, Derek was my dirty talking king I tell
you and I loved every single minute of it. Thanks Laura. I also love the scene
where Charlie was comforting Jeremy, I really do hope they will be getting
their own book, maybe a novella, also. I laughed a lot also, Derek was hilarious,
the part where he’s singing Whitney Houston, I almost died I tell you. Thank
you so much Laura for sharing Derek and Emilie’s story with us, I cannot wait
to read the rest of the stories in the “Hard Ink’ series.
