~Synopsis~
One locked safe, a troublemaking
tattoo, and two determined people… add up to unlocked secrets and a love that
just won’t stop.
Luke “Lucky” O’Conner is a committed
bachelor. His motto…“Nobody’s ever getting this Lucky.” So when Kaley Harlow
walks into his tattoo shop and somehow leaves with the only record of the
numbers to his new safe tattooed on her sexy little hip, Lucky’s motto is
threatened. If he wants to see those numbers again, he has to get close. Closer
than he’s ever gotten to any woman. And he has three weeks to do it.
Kaley Harlow, a happily washed-up
former child star, is out to ruin her reputation. She’s through with people
looking at her like she’s still that innocent little girl in pigtails. Not to
mention, her agent has just signed her up for a movie contract. But, really,
all Kaley wants is to start a new life and finally go to college.
When
Lucky happens into Kaley’s life for the second time, the hot, tattooed badass
is exactly what she needs to sabotage her image. But this badass has a secret,
one that could ruin more than just Kaley’s reputation.

~Review~
Kelly
have won me over as a fan ever since I read “Broken Fences” the first book in
the “Trouble Maker Series” and every time I know that the next book will be
release a play “stalk a book.” Kelly’s writing is explicitly unique to her own
characters and every book differs, even though, you get introduced to them one
time or the other in the other books. This time around we get a glimpse into
the life of Lucky, and boy what a life that is, he gets himself involved with
Kaley, the girl who’s trying to drop her “good girl” pass. I don’t think Kaley
was in for what she signed up for when she agreed with Lucky, and I wasn’t
expecting it either. I know Kelly can write some steamy sex scenes and hot damn
she didn’t disappoint me on bit. As always she turned them sex scenes in her
bitch and make her readers hot all over.
It was so good to see Kaley come into her own independence and become
the person that she destined to be, a woman and not a “girl.” As always a
lovely book written by one of my favorite authors, Kelly Gendron.
~Excerpt~
“Here,” he said, handing her a business card. “Text me your
address, and—”
“Address?” Her heart
kicked up a notch.
“Yeah, tomorrow’s my
day off. I won’t be at the shop. I’ll come to your place, say, around one?”
“But—” she tried to
argue.
“Now,” he
interrupted, disregarding her feeble attempt at a protest, “I’m gonna shove
off, but before I go…” He pulled her against him, secured his arms around her
waist, and gazed down into her eyes. “Let’s do this.”
“What?” Her heart
hit the gas, sped up, and was ready to leap out of her chest, skid right past
him, and end up somewhere in the middle of the street.
“Like I keep sayin’,
those big, beautiful eyes of yours are nothing but a couple of tattletales.”
His husky tone stroked her everywhere as his arms tightened around her. “Kiss
me, Kaley.” His head moved downward. “We both know you know you want to.” He
bent closer, his tempting mouth nearly brushing hers. “And I’m not going
anywhere ‘til I give you what you want.”
His last few words
were enough to push her through the space between them, for her lips to fall
onto his. He was right. She did want to kiss him, and when their lips finally
locked, that kiss was nothing short of amazing. His mouth wasn’t just tempting
to look at. He knew exactly what to do with it. Against his warm, strong lips,
feeling his moist, thick tongue, Kaley had forgotten that they were standing on
a street in downtown Burbank. No longer could she hear the cars whizzing past
them or the people walking by. All that existed in the world was Lucky and the
spell he casted over her with that kiss. Only when he pulled his head back,
breaking their connection, did everything around her swirl back into motion.
As Kaley caught her
breath, Lucky gazed down at her from behind a curtain of long, thick lashes,
his hazel eyes sparkling with reckless naughtiness. The tip of his finger
touched her tingling mouth. He slid it downward and gently pinched her chin.
Lifting those heavy lids, he looked at her with that sexy little grin. “Until
tomorrow, love.” He bent down, stole one last kiss from her wanting mouth
before he turned, and, as he had called it, “shoved off” down the street.
