"Without trust, we have nothing."
These are the words which have haunted Melanie Erickson for six years. When she walked out of the house Xavier Ross bought as their forever home, she thought she was closing that door permanently, but fate had other plans.
Xavier Ross tried to keep everyone at a distance until Melanie came into his life. The more he tried to fight his feelings for her, the more he fell in love. One rash decision fractured the trust that was essential to their relationship.
Six years later, she is the last person he expects to see walk through his front door. Will Xavier and Mel be able to learn to trust one another again so they can fulfill a dying woman’s wish?
|I have been a fan of Sloan's since "Unexpected Angel" her writing is phenomenal, but I must say that this time around she as written a very emotionally, intense book that will have you reaching for the tissues. The characters in this story have stolen my heart, and even thing most would say this is a very skeptic story, I say it's a very gripping and riveting story. Even though Alyssa was a secondary character I really love her. I loved her strength, her intelligence and her perseverance. Jacob stole my heart every time he spoke in the book, he was very intelligent for his years. Then we have Melanie, such a saint and a wonderful woman. Love Xavier, even though her was hard headed and couldn't see reason, but it's to be understand end with the predicament he was in, who in their right mind could remain positive all the time. Fragile Bonds is not only about love lost, but it's about love lost and finding solace in the one person that you would never in a million years think that you would find it in.|
Overall, Sloan has surpass her writing skills with this one, this was a very well written well thought out book. Nothing like a wonderful HEA to put a smile on my face after I'm done reading a book.
Sloan is a Midwestern mom who began writing nearly seven years ago as a way to make money while staying home with her daughter. Now, with two kids in tow and having written more articles on how to assemble various pieces of furniture than she can count, she is reaching to make her dreams come true.
