In this second of the sultry, Western-set Coming Home series from New York Times bestselling author Harper Sloan, Quinn Davis might finally have a shot at her own happily-ever-after—but will she let love in, or will she tell it to go ahead and kiss her boots?
Quinn Davis prefers to live her life quietly. She’s the stereotypical tomboy with two overprotective big brothers who have always been there to protect her, especially from devilishly handsome cowboys with silver tongues. That is, until Tate Montgomery comes riding into town. Their first meeting, however, is far from something out of a fairy tale and only further convinces Quinn that men aren’t worth her time.
The only place Tate Montgomery ever truly felt at home growing up was during the long, sweltering summer months he spent at his Gram and Paw’s farm in Pine Oak, Texas. Now, Tate has returned to his childhood sanctuary seeking a fresh start—but if he’s being entirely honest, he’s not just back for the wranglers and Stetsons. During those summers, Quinn was a friend-turned-young-love who Tate lost when life threw him a curveball and he cut all ties to his past; but all it takes is one glance at the raven-haired beauty he did his best to forget for him to realize just how much he’s been missing….

~Review~
Ok,
so, um, where do I start with writing this review for an author who ALWAYS leaves
me wordless when I read one of her books? I mean, Harper Sloan always capture
my heart every time I am done with one of her books. You have no other choice
but to fall in love with her characters, not only that but you get this
connection with them that leave you feeling like you belong in the story right along
with them. This is exactly how I felt when it came to Quinn and Tate. I am a
sucker for a well written second chance romance and Harper has knocked this one
right out of the ball park.
Quinn
and Tate’s love story is one that I am very happen that was written because he
tells so much. You know, I kind of see myself a little of myself in Quinn and I
am sure there are many more folks out there who can understand the place that
she’s coming from and the things that she was struggling to deal because her
hurt goes way deeper than her past with Tate. Then we have Tate, he had his own
battle that he had to fight and in the end we get to see him win. He was only
one who won though; Quinn was able to overcome so much with this amazing man by
her side. And of course, like with every Harper Sloan books out there you get
the humor that she always knows how to deliver in one fantastic package. I
cannot wait for Clay’s book, I know his story is going to be filled with so
many raw emotions that I know I am going to be gutted and I am going to love
every single minute of it.
