First loves, we all
got them. Mine is Slate Declan. He was kind, gentle, and caring. Still, he
managed to break my heart. So I put miles between us, and eventually, my heart
healed.
I haven’t seen Slate
in years, but a couple friends and I are going back to the Bayou for the
summer. While I’m visiting my hometown, I’m going to look up Slate Declan. And
I plan to break his heart, just as he did mine. I'll remind him of what he has
lost, and then I'll prove to him that I’ve moved on.
It should be real
easy, right?

you, Slate Declan is not the same guy that I left behind. And there’s another

I
have been a fan/reader of Kelly Gendron’s books ever since I read “Broken
Fences.” She had me hook, line and sinker, and I never wanted to turn back. She
knows how to tell a great story and she also knows the exact things to write so
that she could keep her readers interested in the book. She gives the right
amount of sex mix with the right amount of suspense and drama. When I read Jax’s
story and I was ecstatic to read Slate’s. I knew it would be one that will most
definitely pull at your heart strings. I love the Declan brothers, they are so
supportive of each other and they are there for each other every step of the
way, and that’s exactly what we get to witness with Slate, the only thing is he
wasn’t expecting the Rayna to team up with his brothers. I loved Rayna, she was
feisty and one she made up her mind that she wanted to help that’s what she
did, but Slate’s was hearing any of that. But in the end, he ended up giving in
and knew it was for the best, his best that is. Then let’s not forget about the
steamy, raunchy sex scenes that Kelly always graces us with. I thought Jax’s
sex scenes were hot, but hot damn Slate will most definitely set your panties
on fire. I cannot wait to read Lurlene and Zeke’s book, I have a feeling it’s
going to be another scorcher.
