Macy Carrington is broken. The strong, beautiful woman that I’ve unwittingly fallen in love with is all kinds of broken from a secret that she has carried for far too long.
A secret so dark, she has gone to great lengths to protect it.
A secret that I’m terrified will one day rip her away from me.
The only time Macy frees herself from the darkness is when she is naked and in my arms. When I am deep inside her body, there is nothing she fears. When she wraps herself around me, she is at peace.
If she would only yield to me completely, I know I can set her free.

What a way to sum up Cal and Macy’s story. Sawyer Bennett did not disappoint us at all. I was so damn happy to finally get the answers that I was craving and to also be able to see another side of Macy. I feel deeply in love with these two characters and I was so damn happy that Cal was the type of man who fight for the one he loves and he never took Macy’s no for a answer. When we read the ending of Grind we were left with some answers unanswered and we know that there’ll be secrets, but we never anticipated how dark and dirty they would be. And let me tell you something, they are very dark and dirty. But the thing about Macy and Cal is he with hold on and fight to end, he’s not afraid to show is emotions but Macy just wants to push him away and crawl under a rock and forget that the past didn’t just come back to bite her in the ass. In the end he was able to make her see that he is there for the good, bad and the ugly and he’ll never give up on her or the relationship and they both want to see flourish. I never realize the depth of Macy when she was introduced in Legal Affairs, I knew she had a secret past but I never knew how in-depth it would be, and her family was just so damn money hungry and all they cared about was their image. I was damn proud when she finally told Cal about it and even prouder that he never gave up on her. This trilogy, along with many others written by Sawyer was gripping, engaging and very entertaining; the woman knows how to write a damn good sex scene I tell you.
