~Review~

Pepper Winters knows how deliver a well written dark romance. I fell in love with Tess and Q’s story right around book 2. I enjoyed seeing the growth in both characters and the way Pepper summed up the story, I wouldn’t want it any other way.

This story starts out with Tess going on vacation with her boyfriend and they made a pit stop at a restaurant and when Tess woke up, she was bound, gagged and in the back of a car going God knows where.  Tess was released to Mr. Q himself but she wasn’t what he was bargaining for. Here he thought she was this broken girl who needed rescuing, but she stood up to him from the start. She was suppose to be his “eslave”, but once Q started to open up her mind to thinks that Tess has only fantasize about their little game became a reality. They started to build a slave/master relationship that Tess was starting to open up but something happen and Q let her go. In the end Tess came back to him because she realize that with him is where she belonged. The second was filled with a lot more angst and suspense, it had action and gore and I loved it. I wasn’t expecting that to happen to Tess at all. Then when Q finally found her and he was trying to help her, that process made me cry. I wept for them I tell you, yes I know their fictional characters, but that’s how good Pepper is, she’ll make you fall in love with her characters and suck you in the story line. Then we have the third book, this book is where we see Q and Tess finding themselves, we see her battling her demons, we see him helping her. We get to see Q in a vulnerable position in which Tess had to save him. I just loved every second of this book. I don’t know why it took me so damn long to read this book, but I happy that I finally got a chance to do. The Monsters in the Dark series is a hit.
