Every time I read a book about someone in the military
my heart sinks. I always say my heart goes out to them and their family because
I don’t think I would be strong enough to handle my love one leaving me. With
that being said, I take my hat off to Rebecca for a very well written story
about love lost and finding it once again. First we have Danielle who has been
in love with Nate ever since they met when they were seventeen years old, they’ve
been together for years, but Nate made the decision to follow in his father’s
footstep and joined the army. Every time Nate gets deployed Dani is left
feeling worried. They both have faith in their relationship but the inevitable
with Nate being deployed plays a negative part in the life that they’re trying
to build. When tragedy hits them Dani is left with a broken heart and so deep
into depression that she never knew she would need Tanner to help get her
through.
I love what Rebecca did with giving us such an insight
into a love that one would hope for and then a love that was able to be
developed through a friendship that happened just because of a letter that was
sent home to Danielle. This book brought fourth so many emotions that I thought
I wouldn’t stop crying. My heart broke and my swooned all at the same time.
